This lovely ancient cut was commissioned by a very tall priest in Texas for Lent. Probably one of the most gorgeous hues of deep red-brown purple ever made for liturgical wear (which never photographs well for some reason), the Glastonbury damask contains a repeat of crowns of thorns, passionflowers and roses perfectly suited for this liturgical season. The inset of gold brocade provides ornate burgundy accented crosses to match well with the galloons. Gold silk shantung lining and alternating tassels on stole and maniple.
